Evolution of news websites

Just read a great article by Kay about the end of news websites and need to add my point of view about it.

Kay made a list :

Content:
agree with him, we need original content, not only agregator but we need text, photos and research made by author.

Multimedia:
text can be enought but sometimes, a video or a podcast can illustrate an article. what’s better than an interview of a founder or creator ?

Subscription:
an alert system and push system can help you to keep in touch with interesting subjects.

Advertising:
of course in the perfect word we would like not display ads but a social ad, target and nice can be included in article.

Virality:
social century means sharing and tweeting.

I would like to add :

open-mind journalist / early-adopter journalist:
bored to read or listen “the press is independent, social networks are not worth the paper journal”. Why would they turn to a statement of change of uses. internet people read less paper and more digital articles, start te dedicate a web-team with web-journalist and web-report, stop the transposition paper to web.

think customer and not support.
for example I like LeFigaro.fr or Lexpress.fr, if i take LeFigaro to illustrate, i dont want to be a 4-times-customer : me on iphone, me on ipad, me on web and me offline. you want to increase your subscribers, THINK GLOBAL, why do not propose an unique-id for a customer with a quota of news. Imagine if you can complete a form on a support of your choise, once a day, to receive news of the day and access news. Today I am off, I need have access on my iphone, so let’s go on iphone complete my form and receive news on iphone, tomorrow i will be at office, I can take access on web ….
